Spirit of the competition
The spirit of green chemistry is to think about how to reduce the amount and toxicity of chemicals used before the reaction and the waste and toxicity generated after the reaction. Therefore, the logic of green chemistry is to combine chemistry, economics and environmental benefits, and to provide an innovative, science-based approach to solving important environmental problems, which will be an important trend for the future.
The Chemicals Administration, Ministry of Environment hopes to stimulate students' and teachers' creativity and promote the 12 principles of green chemistry (PRODUCTIVELY) by organizing the Green Chemistry Innovation Competition, jointly promoting the concept of sustainable development of the environment and establishing the concept of safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable green chemistry in academia and research institutions, so that the academic community can really feel the feasibility and importance of green chemistry.
Green science education is important at the post-secondary level. From the cultivation of innovative and independent thinking, to the stimulation of creativity and the development of professional skills, encouraging the spirit of scientific exploration and the potential for creativity and invention and cultivating students' spirit of flexible thinking and multi-learning, the CHA and the Ministry of Education jointly organized the "Green Chemistry Innovation Competition" to provide students with a positive competitive environment and a venue to present their results, as well as providing interested public with the opportunity to observe and plant the seeds of green chemistry in the society.
